Forgiveness & You: Love Covers

Jesus, speaking to the disciples, gave them a new commandment in John 13:34-35 ; A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” Jesus, gave them this command as he knew that God first loved us and sent him (Jesus) for the express purpose of forgiveness of sin and bringing reconciliation to our Heavenly Father. It is because of the love of the Father that the, Son gave his life, that we might not die in our sins, but live eternally in righteousness with the Lord.

” For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17 KJV

Today’s post , the final part of this blog series Forgiveness & You, deals with forgiveness through love. In Genesis 3:1-24, we see the first man and woman fall from their state of holy perfection and righteousness and relationship with God into a state of death, and all of their children and descendants born into a state of sin and death. God being merciful, made the first sacrifice of an animal to cover Adam and his wife.  For thousands of years afterward, men made sacrifices of bulls, sheep, doves and goat, to appease the Lord and seek his mercy in forgiveness, brigning about peace. Yet the Lord’s full purpose was not yet wholly fulfilled. Until Jesus, the son of God was born to mankind, and went to the cross on Cavalry and rose again after 3 days. Then the love and goodwill  of God towards mankind was made manifest and our sins were blotted out, we were made whole and righteous and are now called children of God.

snatched from the fire

It was love that saved and redeemed us from death, hell and the grave. It was love that healed and delivered us, it was loved that picked us up and set our feet on solid ground. It is love that gives us hope, when all seems to be lost. It was love! God Covered us when we were sinners and we are to do the same for others. God snatched us from the fire, we must do the same for others. Jesus Intercedes on our behalf because he loves us, we must do the same. A true Believer, will do as the Master did, love and forgive.

Our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus, leads us by example to love one another and to forgive one another our faults, being merciful and restoring one another to the faith. Lastly, remember always that  Forgiveness is an act of unconditional love, which means that the person does not have to meet your requirements, but for you to meet the Lord’s by offering forgiveness in love.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT
